Merry Tunes, Pt. 2
Another batch of holiday tunes, with moods ranging from cheery to eerie. It’s all electric fantastic!
- Norwegian duo Röyksopp has made an amazing electronic edit of “Le Cantique de Noel”, which you can download here. I’ve decided that the idea of a full-on festive album from them can be quite exciting.
- NYC electropop duo The Golden Filter has covered Psychic TV’s “White Nights” through their dreamy, off-kilter, um, filter. It’s surprisingly good. Get it here.
- British electropop musician James Yuill has made a four-to-the-floor remix of “Jingle Bells” for a Guinness commercial. Grab the dancey Jingle Pints remix here.
- Saint Etienne has just released a fan-club-only Christmas compilation, “A Glimpse of Stocking”, which consists of 7 new tracks and old ones recorded over the years. Unfortunately, it has all been sold out. You can still download a synth-pop cut, “No Cure For The Common Christmas”, at RCRD LBL.
- The Superions is a side project of The B-52′s frontman, and they have a new holiday album out, “Destination… Christmas!”. You should download the YACHT remix of “Fruitcake”, it’s both ridiculously fun and bonkers.
That concludes my holiday goodies roundup. May I wish you all a very merry holiday break and a happy new year. Thank you for visiting Pop Labyrinth, and I promise there will be plenty of posts to come in 2011!
